Neale Donald Walsh is a very famous author and speaker worldwide. His best-seller and most well-known book, “Conversations With God” has been published in 34 languages and turned Neale into the spiritual messenger that millions have come to know. Many have said Neale and his life’s work is a giant scam to make money. A shame I’ll tell ya.
Neale is a family friend and has the classic rags to riches story. He was homeless – a movie was made about his life, maybe worth checking out sometime – and questioning life. One day he sat down with pen and paper and he says God spoke through him. Ok, that’s when I get a little iffy about it too, but I listen on – *everyone* has value and a message to share. The book, which turned into a series, asks dozens and dozens of questions and then provides the answers.
What types of questions?
- To whom does God communicate? Are their special people? Are their special times?
- How can I get to my God space when I’ve lost my job, the rent needs paying, the kids need a dentist, and being in my lofty philosophical space seems the least likely way to solve any of this?
- When will I learn enough about relationships to be able to have them go smoothly? Is there a way to be happy in relationships? Must they be constantly challenging?
The book is very interesting – enlightening – and a tad heavy at times for me. But, overall, worth looking into. I think you can get messages in many different places from many different forms.
I have subscribed to Neale’s email list and would like to share what I received Monday. His email list shares “On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know…” – it’s eerie how you can relate 95% of his messages to something in your life that day. I do tend to look out for ways to improve and learn – so it would be interesting to see if you find his messages relevant.
