Today’s message is short and sweet: Never underestimate the power of breathing. For some reason this week has been a little hectic – meaning many people around me called in a panic over one issue or another. Major health scares, relationship worries, career changes, etc. A lot of people got freaked out – even if only for a short while.
When we freak out we get anxious, tight, scared. We get overwhelmed quickly because we are thinking about the “big picture” and not manageable pieces. We can even tell we are not thinking clearly and that stress is taking over completely. Yet, we don’t know how to stop that train.
Breathe. That’s all you really need to remember. If you feel yourself getting wound up, hopefully you can trigger the memory to just breathe. Getting that extra oxygen will be very good for your body. It will slow your heart rate and […]
Have you ever caught yourself in the middle of a shame spiral searching Facebook on who you can chat with, scrolling your phone for that “right person” to call who will comfort you, yet no one seems to be that “right person”? You’re fidgety, frustrated and your whole body is tight. Then you tell yourself, “Well, I don’t NEED to talk about it, it would just be nice.”
If you are identifying with this, then let this be a message that cautions you. This process happens when something (or things) is brewing deep inside you. You are like a volcano about ready to blow. Tears emerge, but you are trying to be “strong” so maybe only one falls. You know you’re on dangerous grounds but you test it, tease it and think you can overcome this power brewing in you.
False. Sorry to break that thought – but deep down you already […]
Fear is a very common, recurring, natural emotion. If it never fully goes away, we need to learn to develop a relationship with that fear so it no longer controls us.
In order to get ourselves back on track we must step through three phases of enlightenment. The first is to reconnect with our Self by remembering our core values, strengths and goals. Only by doing this can we move into the second phase which is to see past our fears. When we finally make this shift, we will be able to look into our future once more with purpose and excitement. Our third phase is to take action. Once we take action we are reminded of our worth. It is when we feel worthy that the strongest forces in the world can no longer stop us.
What does it mean to reconnect with our Self? Because we all have different trials, […]
On our last post I revealed the 3 major times in my life that stress caused major health problems. I did this only with hopes that you could recognize patterns of stress in your own life. Today I want to share with you

Looking at the root of your stress
My dad was a very wise man when he told me, “I like to go straight to the source and fix the issue there instead of covering up the pain”. Ok, he was telling me this one day when I was complaining about my wrist hurting from clicking my mouse a million times that day. I was a little worried about early signs of carpel tunnel which he had. I was saying, “what should I take for this pain to get the swelling to go down?”
His point being, instead […]
Stress is a funny little thing that we all have blinders on about. We don’t even realize all the little ways that we get stressed out everyday. Someone cuts you off in traffic, you stub your toe, you daughter throws a fit, your girlfriend breaks up with you, your tire blows out on the freeway, you’re late for work, you spill coffee on your white blouse, sitting in rush hour traffic, a client lets out their frustration on you, a kid calls you a name in school, you get humiliated in front of a group of people, your bank account is lower than you’d like, you’re late paying your taxes, your credit card is maxed out, the divorce is final, the guy you like isn’t calling you back… and those are only 16 of a billion ways you could feel a rise in your stress levels.
Ok, you say, maybe I […]
