The Life-Changing Powers of Confrontation

The Life-Changing Powers of Confrontation

You already know exactly what I’m talking about. I don’t have to tell you what “confrontation” means.

I’ll start by admitting to you all that I think confrontation is one of the most difficult things to do, for me. It would be so easy for some people to shove the past under the rug, move on, write it off – but not for me. Some say we have a “contract” with ourselves before we come to live on this planet. A contract we must fulfill or we come back and do it again until we get it right. I don’t think I believe in all that, but if it is true, then my biggest feat is to stand up for myself, confront my fears and stand in alignment. Strong, honest, pure.

When I have to confront something (usually a someONE), my body has this awful reaction that I’d give anything to turn […]

Will I Ever Be Happy?

Will I Ever Be Happy?

Yesterday I was holding a coaching call with an amazing client. The purpose of the call was to strategize on how to build her business online, but somewhere, the conversation took a turn.

At one point in our call, she expressed a fear that she might never be happy all because someone she looked up to told her so years ago. That stuck with me and I decided to make a Facebook post to inquire what advice our followers would give this woman.

The response was amazing and full of fantastic insight. Today, I am pasting all of their responses for you to learn from:

she can always choose to go back to that moment and re-play those words to: ‘I will always be happy, it is my choice’, she can then practice that as a daily affirmation… when you believe you have the choice (really believe it at your core) […]

Facing Your Fear of Starting High School (and Beyond)

Facing Your Fear of Starting High School (and Beyond)

Do you get anxiety when you think about starting high school? The new faces, the new classes, the new environment?

My neighbor’s daughter is starting high school in the Fall. She shyly told me she was nervous. Boy did that bring me back…

I remember graduating from middle school happy as a clam. I had hit a real milestone in my life and felt proud. Yet, entering high school gave me the opposite feeling. I had sweaty palms, anxiety, fear – all of it.

I was going from a class size of 35 to a class of more than 350! It was a transition from a private school to a public school and I had no way to prepare for what happened.

The first day of school was exactly what you’d expect.

In fact, I have recurring dreams about it to this day! lol. It’s me always late to a class because I can’t find […]

What To Do When Someone Disappoints You

What To Do When Someone Disappoints You

When someone disappoints us it kind of feels like you’re standing still and not sure what to do. Anger, fear and sadness mix together. Questions start popping up all over the place. “What did I do?” “Was this my fault?” “Am I not good enough?” “Do I tell the person how I really feel?” “Should I never talk to them again?”

It is very easy to slip into the role of victim here and point your finger at them in judgment. So let that be our first example of a route you could go down. It wouldn’t be that difficult to talk about them behind their back, stew in private and write them off.

I personally believe this would catch up to you. I am the person who believes, “treat others the way you would want to be treated” – I’m extremely patient – and arguably too forgiving (if that is possible). […]

Being Critical of Yourself Will Get You Nowhere

Being Critical of Yourself Will Get You Nowhere

Do you look in the mirror and have thoughts about how your hips are too big, your acne is ugly, your hair isn’t perfect, your stomach isn’t flat enough, your _________? Or do you feel not good enough to have a relationship with your crush, not good enough to achieve good grades, not good enough to _________?

Women especially have a hard time accepting themselves. When I was 22 I was given the greatest gift. I was made aware that my whole life I had been replaying this message in my mind and heart that I am not good enough. I could see so clearly how this negatively affected my relationships, school work, career, friendships and more.

ANY time you are being critical of yourself, you are reducing your chance for a happy, successful, fulfilling life. If you believe in yourself, others will believe in you. If you don’t like who you […]

Do You Feel ‘Good Enough’? How a Shift in Perspective Can Change Your World for the Better

Do You Feel ‘Good Enough’? How a Shift in Perspective Can Change Your World for the Better

I have done a LOT of soul work ever since I was a little girl. As dorky as it may sound, I have actually broken my 28-year old life into two stages, and I even have titles for them! The first stage was my teenage depression years titled, “From Lost to Found” and since then I have been in “No Guts No Glory” mode.

In between these two stages rests one of the most important moments of my whole life. A special pocket of time where it felt like time was slowing down; my heart and mind and soul were wide open to receiving ‘the message.’ I was at an Anthony Robbins event and eighty to a hundred people surrounded me, chanting, screaming, jumping up and down all in support of me breaking this one-inch board with my bare hand. I was one of the last and my hand was pulsing […]

Catapult Your Personal and Business Success! Here’s How…

Though I’m only a budding 28 year old, I realized a breakthrough mentality in my life and just had to share it with you!

If you’re a regular reader, by now you’ve heard my story of being a completely lost and depressed teen. You know the type that ate lunches along, cried most nights in bed and felt largely friendless? I had NO CLUE why these feelings of confusion and depression overcame me, or how long they would take up residence in my life, but they sure ate away at me.

From there, with a whole lotta faith and perseverance, I discovered the tools of business success in my tool box. I was 19 and attending college when I started working with a huge national marketing company. Life started to return. The recognition and achievements at my work was all I needed to start to turn my life around. Being lonely and […]

You may or may not know by now that I hold a strong passion for opening communication between teens and parents. Wow oh wow did I push and pull my parents in every possible direction as a teen. “I need you” … “No, get away” … it must have been so incredibly confusing for them! But I couldn’t help it, I was an emotional roller coaster.

I was confused to the max about the pressures I felt surrounding me. Who did I want to be? How did I want to show up in the world? I constantly analyzed how others showed up and compared […]

The 21 Reasons Why I Love You

The 21 Reasons Why I Love You

Today’s post is from ‘anonymous’ who wrote this for their relationship partner. I decided to add this in for two reasons. One, it’s important that we take time out of our busy schedules to think about why we care about the people we surround ourselves with. Two, because it’s equally important that we take time to express our feelings to others – whether family, friends or relationship partners. It can really strengthen a relationship and remind both parties why this relationship is so important. I would love to hear your thoughts after reading…

The 21 reasons why I love you and ‘just know’…

I love you because you take the time to really understand who I am.
Because I feel safer knowing you’re in my life.
Because you always show up when I need you most.

I love you because you never cease to make me smile or laugh.
Because you find ways to […]

“Starting at very early ages we all become elated at the idea that our soul mate or significant other is out there somewhere – we just have to find him/her. Attending weddings, watching romantic movies and hearing stories of how lovers met… it all solidifies this feeling inside of us – our desire to meet our match.

The process isn’t an easy one as you probably know by now. We have such high hopes starting with our early-year relationships. The more experience we have – the more relationship partners – the more complex it all becomes. I know plenty of people that have baggage from […]
